Mission Statement

Exploring intuitive, creative, and inclusive immersive experiences via extended reality (XR), eye tracking, and gaming technologies.

The human-computer interaction landscape continues to rapidly evolve, moving beyond traditional desktop and laptop interfaces. Emerging technologies such as Extended Reality (XR) are becoming increasingly prevalent, not only in gaming, but across a range of applications including healthcare, and the GLAM sector (galleries, libraries, archives and museums). This shift introduces novel forms of interaction, including gestures, the integration of haptics, artificial intelligence, and the use of eye tracking technologies. Consequently, there is a need to investigate the opportunities presented by how people engage with these cutting-edge technologies alongside the potential risks. The HCET Lab explores these developing interactions to foster intuitive, accessible, and safe XR experiences.
